Hunting Season

from March 1st -August 15

Bull Elk Rut

Fallow bucks and Red stags, both these species are free range

Hunting Time

Allow 3 days for Bull Elk and an extra few days for Fallow and or Red Stag

Hunting Conditions

A reasonable standard of fitness is required. The terrain is generally steep hill country

Clothing

Weather conditions vary from fine frosty weather to heavy rain and occasional snow. Good quality warm, comfortable and waterproof clothing and boots are required

Firearms

Recommended cartridges from .270 to .338.
Range facilities are available.
Rifles are available on request.
Note: A tourist firearms license must be obtained from the police on arriving in New Zealand. This will take about half an hour to process

Taxidermy

All trophies expedited by Top Taxidermist who can either complete your trophy mount or expedite to your home for local taxidermy
Note: Taxidermy and Other Activity  costs are extra and we can advise you of all costs

Insurance

We recommend you obtain:
a) Travel and Medical Insurance 
b) Cancellation Insurance
c) Trophy Insurance

Booking Conditions

25% of trophy fee on booking
Balance of payment at hunt conclusion

Travel

We recommend you arrive at Auckland International Airport and transfer to a domestic flight to Palmerston North or Wanganui. We will pick you up from there for the 2 hour journey to the lodge.
