The Elk/Wapiti hunting area is made up of a mixture of grassland and forested areas. The terrain is rolling to steep with patches of bush and clearings, some shots can be long.
Bulls can be spotted from a distance and time can be taken to properly access trophy potential.
The challenge of luring a mature bull out of the timber during the rut makes a
once in a lifetime experience.
But our country is varied and long shots to test the skill of the dedicated rifleman also occur regularly.
The policy of not harvesting immature bulls means that each year a large number of bulls reach their top trophy potential.
6 x 6 bulls are common, but we wish to share with you the challenge of taking exceptional trophies.
To compliment this we also offer free range Fallow and Red Stag hunting.
These hunting areas are situated in different areas adjacent to the Elk / Wapiti hunting estate.
All the areas we hunt on are private land owned by John and Robin Batley.
We have taken some outstanding free range Fallow bucks in the last few years. We hunt free range Red Stags on our property that backs on to State forest land where there are many thousands of acres of forest, we only need to hunt the fringe country.
