Real New Zealand Hunting

WELCOME TO TE HENGA HUNTING

Does the idea of hunting big game in New Zealand interest you?
Here at Te Henga hunting we offer the opportunity to hunt Red and Fallow deer. These are free range animals. We also offer fair chase hunting for Elk.

Private Estate, Free Range

Nestled in the picturesque central north island of New Zealand, under the shadow of the Ruahine Mountain Ranges with the meandering Rangitikei river flowing through the heart of the central North Island lies one of hunting’s best kept secrets. We have 4 privately owned properties that cater to each of our well sort after deer species.

Species

Here at Te Henga we have a pure strain of Elk that has been bred on our dedicated elk property for over 20 years. We also offer fantastic hunting of Red and Fallow Deer.

The Land

Our Elk and Red deer are on 3400 acres of medium to steep hill country, run alongside a semi intensive sheep and cattle farming operation. A mixture of grassland and scattered bush with some larger forested areas can make locating bulls a thrilling challenge. Fallow occupy 1250 acres of rolling to medium contour land.

Accommodation

We offer an authentic accommodation experience – self-contained real New Zealand huts with all the basics for a perfect hunters retreat.

Your Hosts

This land has been family owned for 5 generations and Te Henga Hunting established in 1998. We know the terrain and all this place has to offer, we look forward to working alongside you to create the ultimate hunting experience.
